About Us

The Chemo Care Bag Project began as a tribute to Chauncey and Lynn Smith, each having passed from cancer. To memorialize their well-lived lives, their daughter Kristen started this campaign by asking supporters to sponsor a cinch sac bag for $25. That bag then is filled with items that are helpful to those going through cancer treatment and hopefully provide some level of comfort.

This campaign has continued to grow each year and our goals continue to rise. Our first year – 25 bags to our fifth year – 400+ bags!!!

The campaign generally runs during March of each year with Chemo Care Bags delivered in May-June. It is our hope that the Chemo Care Bags will let the recipients know that they are being thought of and prayed for during their medical treatment.
